With all the different money making opportunities online many ask themselves if all they see about paid surveys is true. The different companies offering to pay you for your opinion make it seem like you are going to be a millionaire in a short period of time. They may have testimonials from people saying how much they made, but if you look at the fine print it will say that these results are not typical.

That doesn’t mean you can’t make money from doing paid surveys, but it doesn’t work the way most people think, and most of these sites that are advertising free paid surveys are mostly free trial offer, or product sign up sites. For instance one of these product sign ups says you will get paid to try a popular online movie rental service. These sites may pay five dollars for you to keep using the rental service for three months. The problem is that after three months you will have paid ten dollars for that five. With free trial offers, you sign up and get one month to decide if you like it. While you may get $10 to do this, you have to make sure you cancel on the very last day or it doesn’t count. The monthly fee for the offer at regular price can be up to $30 a month.
Not to worry, there are plenty of real paid surveys websites that offer nothing buy surveys that you can get paid for. Many of these only pay a few dollars, some of the really good ones can paid over fifty, but these are few and far between. Time is also a factor, some of these can take up to two hours or more, depending on the subject the survey is about.

There is something else you have to understand about paid surveys, they only pay if you get all the way to the very end. You may be kicked out of the survey at any time because of your age, race, or demographic. These surveys are prejudiced, some are targeting certain groups more than others. For an example if you are doing a survey and live on the East Coast and the Survey is targeting people that live on the West, then you would be kicked out of the survey before it was completed. You can’t cheat and pretend you are your fourteen year old son or a woman instead of a guy, they have extremely sophisticated software to make sure you are telling the true. If a list of questions from one to ten are asked, you can just say the same number for the whole list.
If you are thinking about doing these paid surveys, there are some other things you should know. One of them is that most people who do surveys for a living do surveys in volume. They sign up for at least ten different sites, sometimes twenty or thirty. Just like any other kind of job, you have to treat it like a job, set aside time each day for at least six hours to fill out surveys. Be as honest as you can, because there are going you be times you may be emailed and offered a position in a opinion group, these positions pay really good.
